Are these sprite sheets really free?

Yes. Every spritesheet in the gallery is free to download, and there is nothing to pay or unlock.

Can I use them in a commercial game?

Yes. Uploaders release their work for anyone to use, with no attribution required. Anything based on existing characters is the exception, so check before you ship.

Do I need an account to download?

No. Browse, download, and open assets in the editor without signing in.

What do I get when I download?

The project JSON, with every layer and frame intact. Open it in the editor to export a PNG, an atlas, a GIF, or loose frames.

How do I split a sprite sheet into frames?

Load it in the editor and set your grid, or let it detect the frames. Export them as loose PNGs in a ZIP.

Can I share my own sprite sheets here?

Yes. Open a sheet in the editor, hit Publish to Gallery, and give it a title and a few tags. Publishing needs a free account, downloading does not.

Everything uploaded to the gallery is free to use as far as we are concerned. Personal projects, game jams, games you sell. No license to read, no attribution required, nothing to pay.

What we cannot clear for you is copyrighted work from somewhere else. If a sheet looks like it came out of an existing game, show, or film, the uploader had no right to release it and we take no responsibility for what happens next. Double check anything recognizable before you ship it.
